Installation "Weisst Du wie viel Sternlein stehen?"

We are constantly encountering newspaper headlines, and as everyday branding they are very quickly forgotten again. The newspaper headlines that Sabine Hertig has selected exactly as they were and torn from their original context are reactivated in their function of awakening associations. This “everyday prose” of nineteen headlines can be read from left to right and is arranged accordingly in the lightboxes.
“Headlines are so attractive to me precisely because in a newspaper, like the images, they speak to use directly emotionally independently of the associated newspaper report and associatively out of curiosity, dismay, interest, or fear and therefore offer lots of latitude for one’s own images and fantasies.”
The installation Weisst du, wie viel Sternlein stehen? was accompanied by the publication of a small limited edition (30 copies) of an eponymous artist’s book.
