Verantwortung, zum Temperament einer Haltung26.5.–22.9.2013Vögele Kulturzentrum Pfäffikon, Schwyz (CH)
The concept of responsibility seems clear to all of us; everyone believes they know what it consists of, and no one would simply describe themselves as irresponsible. But what is responsibility really, wherein does it lie, and who bears it? The exhibition seeks to explore these questions and with the aid of current findings and events reveal the causality of action and effect.
The starting point for the exhibition is the thesis that responsibility is something fluid that makes civil society possible in the first place. Rules and obligations but also the rights and freedoms of the individual who has to engage with the dimension of his or her actions will be discussed using the example of artistic positions, specific examples, and philosophical models. This also raises the question what individuals can achieve if they measure their behavior by the criterion of global effect and responsibility.
